Just as going to a foreign country and knowing how to speak its language does not make us citizens of that country, going to church and knowing how to read the Bible does not make us children of God.
After all, even Satan and his demons go to church and know all the Bible verses, but they cannot be children of God.
To be called children of God, we must first accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
The Bible says that « to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. »(John 1:12)
When we are accepted as children of God, we become his heirs with Jesus, which means that we have rights with Jesus over all that the Father has.
The Bible says that: “if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. »(Romans 8:17)
