This hidden joy in the hearts of many people when misfortunes befall their adversaries or their enemies is not right in the sight of God.
The book of Proverbs says:
« Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice. »(Proverbs 24:17)
Indeed, your enemies are also children of God in the same way as yourself and God loves them at the same degree as you.
If you rejoice in their misfortunes, know that your attitude greatly displeases God.
Also know that these misfortunes that happen to your enemies can also happen to you or the worst.
Evil remains evil, whoever it happens to; hate it, avoid it both for yourself and for others and never rejoice if it happens to another person.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us never again to rejoice in the misfortune of others.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
