Did you know that nothing can happen to his children if God does not allow it?
Yes, God allows our suffering.
God let us suffer for these seven (7) reasons:
1. So that we learn to rely on Him (God) alone and not on ourselves.
« …so that we should not put our trust in ourselves, but put it in God, who raises the dead. »(2 Corinthians 1:8-9)
2. To bring him glory.
God authorizes Satan to smite us so that His glory may be manifested upon us:
« Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life. »(Job 2:6)
3. So that we can comfort others.
« …the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions, so that by the consolation of which we are the object from God, we can comfort those who are in some affliction! »(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
4. For us to become mature.
« …so that you may be perfect and complete, failing in nothing. »(James 1:2-4)
5. For our spirit to be awakened by his presence.
« Therefore it is said, Awake, you that sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. »(Ephesians 5:14)
6. To earn a crown of life promised to us.
« Blessed is the man who patiently endures temptation; for after he has been tried he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him. »(James 1:12)
7. That we may be renewed spiritually.
« Therefore we do not lose heart. And even though our outer man is being destroyed, our inner man is being renewed day by day. »(2 Corinthians 4:16)
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to know you through our sufferings and to always benefit from them.
