From the beginning God set the example of pausing to rest.
« By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. »(Genesis 2:2-3)
Even if God rested, He was not tired. No, God cannot be tired, God is tireless.
God rested to teach men that they need rest.
He knows that our minds and bodies are more effective when we get adequate rest.
We are able to be more kind, effective, creative, and productive when we work 6 days rather than all 7.
Let us have the habit of resting to preserve our life.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to have a habit of resting to preserve our life.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
