“If anyone is a new creature in Christ, what is old has passed away. Behold, all things have been made new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
There are transformations that the eyes cannot see, but that heaven immediately recognizes.
When a person comes to Christ, they do not necessarily change in appearance. Those around them still see the same face, the same body, and the same voice. Yet something profound has taken place within himm.
His heart has changed.
His way of thinking has changed.
His desires have changed.
Hos priorities have changed.
His relationship with God has changed.
That is why a child of God can confidently declare:
“I am no longer who I used to be.”
Perhaps my height, my weight, and my face remain the same, but I am no longer the one you knew before. I have changed.
Once, I walked in darkness, but today I walk in the light.
Once, I was a slave to sin, but today I have been set free by Jesus Christ.
Once, I lived according to my own desires, but today I seek to fulfill the will of God.
Once, I had no hope, but today I know that my future is in the Lord’s hands.
Jesus said to Nicodemus:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one has been reborn anew, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
The new birth is therefore not a simple improvement of character.
It is a deep transformation brought about by the Holy Spirit.
The old man does not become better; a new creation is born.
That is why the apostle Paul wrote:
“I live; yet now, it is not I, but truly Christ, who lives in me. And though I live now in the flesh, I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and who delivered himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
The world may try to remind you of your past.
Some people may continue to see you as who you once were.
But God sees you through the work accomplished by His Son.
In Christ, you are no longer defined by your faults, your failures, your wounds, or your old habits.
You are a new creation.
Do not return to what God has already left behind.
Walk in your new identity.
Live according to your new nature.
And never forget this: when God transforms a heart, He transforms a destiny.
May the Lord make the new life He has given you shine within you.
