What is the point of appearing righteous before men if you are not sincerely so?
Jesus tells us:
« You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts… »(Luke 16:15)
Instead of trying to justify ourselves, to appear righteous in the eyes of others, we must rather seek to be sincerely righteous.
Well, even though we seek to appear righteous before men, God sees the dishonesty, wickedness, injustice and every evil that we hide in our hearts.
And because God hates all evil, He ends up revealing us to warn or protect those who do not know our wickedness and dishonesty.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to seek to be righteous rather than to seek to appear righteous.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
