Man is only a vapor which appears for a short time and then vanishes. Unquestionably, our passage on earth is fleeting and our departure brutal! Furthermore, the Bible says that it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment.
“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”(Psalms 90:12)
While we can, before it is too late, let us seek out what God’s will is and submit to it immediately.
We only have a short time ahead of us! Why waste it in futility? Why do we waste it on all sorts of vanities? Everyone knows that tomorrow is not in our power, it does not belong to us.
Let’s not waste another minute! Let us renounce the train of this world and its folly! Rather, let us use the days lent to us to seek the Lord and to do only good!
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to know how to use our time effectively.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
