The word of God as given to us by the prophet Micah advises us to love everyone but never trust anyone:
« Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend. Even with her who lies in your embrace be careful of your words. »(Micah 7:5)
Although loving everyone is a commandment from God, we don’t have to trust our friends, because trust is reserved for God alone.
Indeed, those whom we trust also trust others to whom they entrust the secrets we entrust to them.
And moreover, let us know that whoever is a friend today can become an enemy tomorrow and use our secrets to destroy us or block us in the fulfillment of our life.
Only God remains our friend and deserves our trust.
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant to us never trust anyone again.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
