Everyone has a father who begot him, but all together we have a common Father, who is in heaven.
In the prayer that his son Jesus taught us, he taught us to say:
* »Our Father who art in heaven… »*(Matthew 6:9-13)
Why didn’t Jesus tell us to pray saying: * »The Father of Jesus who art in heaven… »*?
It is quite simply because God is not his Father alone, that he is also *OURS*, and all of us, His children.
Indeed, for having created man in his image, and because he is the source of our life, God loves all men with the same love, without any distinction or favouritism for some.
Those who think that God only listens to or loves certain individuals, because they are his servants or his prophets, do not know Him and are greatly mistaken.
Our God is for all of us, He loves us all and cares for us all.
We therefore all have the right to call on Him, to tell Him what worries us, to ask Him for advice, to ask Him to help us, to bless us or to strengthen us, etc.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to always remember that You are our Father.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
