When Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert, he was tempted by the devil for forty days but refused to obey him.

The devil said to him, « If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread. »(Luke 4:3)
The devil led him again to Jerusalem, had him stand on the highest point of the temple. « If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ »(Luke 4:9-11)

By tempting Jesus, the devil knew that he had before him an almighty son of God, capable of ordering a stone to become bread.
He also knew that if Jesus fell from the top of the Temple, God the Father absolutely had to order the angels to guard him.
What did he want then?
The devil simply wanted Jesus to obey him and agree to do his will.

We must refuse any proposal from the devil, even if this proposal seeks our good, our healing, our victory, our success, and so on.
When we do Satan’s will, we make a pact with him, we accept to become his slave from now on.
It is very different from sinning because it deserves deliverance rather than forgiveness of sins.

Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to never obey the devil.

Lorsque Jésus il fut conduit par l’Esprit dans le désert, il fut tenté par le diable pendant quarante jours mais refusa de lui obeir.

Le diable lui dit: « Si tu es Fils de Dieu, ordonne à cette pierre qu’elle devienne du pain. »(Luc 4:3)
Le diable le conduisit encore à Jérusalem, le plaça sur le haut du temple, et lui dit: « Si tu es Fils de Dieu, jette-toi d’ici en bas; car il est écrit: Il donnera des ordres à ses anges à ton sujet, Afin qu’ils te gardent; et: Ils te porteront sur les mains, De peur que ton pied ne heurte contre une pierre. »(Luc 4:9-11)

En tentant Jésus, le diable savait qu’il avait en face de lui un fils de Dieu, tout-puissant, capable d’ordonner à une pierre de devenir du pain.
Il savait aussi que si Jésus tombait du haut du Temple, Dieu le Père devait absolument ordonner les anges de le garder.
Que voulait-il alors ?
Le diable voulait tout simplement que Jésus lui obéisse et accepte de faire sa volonté.

Nous devons refuser toute proposition venant du diable, même si cette proposition cherche notre bien, notre guérison, notre réussite, notre succès, etc.
Lorsque l’on fait la volonté de Satan, l’on pactise avec lui, l’on accepte de devenir dorénavant son esclave.
C’est très différent de pécher car, l’on mérite plutôt la délivrance que le pardon des péchés.

Joseph’s brothers called him dreamer, because he told them his dreams.
But in reality, his dreams were real prophecies about his life.

His first dream:
« We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it. »(Genesis 37:7)
His second dream:
« This time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me. »(Genesis 37:9)
These dreams meant that one day his parents and brothers would bow down to him.

Indeed, although these dreams were real prophecies about him, Joseph did not know what had to happen before his dreams came true:
1. His brothers mistreated him.(Genesis 37:19-20)
2. They sold it to foreigners.(Genesis 37:28)
3. He had to become a slave.(Genesis 37:36)
4. He had to be put in prison.(Genesis 39:20)
And now, on leaving prison, Joseph became the man of his dreams!
So Pharaoh said to Joseph, « I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt. »(Genesis 41:41)
And when famine struck Canaan, Joseph’s ten brothers went down to Egypt to buy wheat. Now, it was Joseph who sold wheat to all the people of the land.
« So when Joseph’s brothers arrived, they bowed down to him with their faces to the ground. »(Genesis 42:6)

Although we may go through difficult situations, we must keep our trust in God and remain courageous because nothing can prevent or block God’s plans for us.
What God said about us will absolutely have to happen.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to keep trusting in You and to remain courageous while we wait for the realization of our dreams.

Les frères de Joseph l’appellaient faiseur de songes, parce qu’il leur racontait ses songes.
Mais en réalité, ses songes étaient des prophéties réelles sur sa vie.

Son premier songe:
« Nous étions à lier des gerbes au milieu des champs; et voici, ma gerbe se leva et se tint debout, et vos gerbes l’entourèrent et se prosternèrent devant elle. »(Genèse 37:7)
Son deuxième songe:
« Et voici, le soleil, la lune et onze étoiles se prosternaient devant moi. »(Genèse 37:9)
Ces songes signifiaient qu’un jour, ses parents et ses frères allaient se prosterner en terre devant lui.

En effet, bien que ces songes étaient des prophéties réelles sur lui, Joseph ignorait ce qui devait se passer avant que ses songes se réalisent:
1. Ses frères l’ont maltraité. (Genèse 37:19-20)
2. Ils l’ont vendu aux étrangers. (Genèse 37:28)
3. Il a dû devenir esclave. (Genèse 37:36)
4. Il a dû être mis en prison.(Genèse 39:20)
Et voilà qu’à la sortie de la prison, Joseph devint l’homme de ses songes!
« Pharaon dit à Joseph: Vois, je te donne le commandement de tout le pays d’Égypte. »(Genèse 41:41)
Et lorsque la famine frappa Canaan, les dix frères de Joseph descendirent en Égypte, pour acheter du blé. Or, c’est Joseph qui vendait du blé à tout le peuple du pays.
« Les frères de Joseph vinrent, et se prosternèrent devant lui la face contre terre. »(Genèse 42:6)

Quoique nous puissions traverser des situations dures, nous devons garder notre confiance en Dieu et rester courageux parce que, rien ne peut ni empêcher ni bloquer les projets de Dieu sur nous.
Ce que Dieu a dit sur nous devra absolument arriver.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de vous garder confiance en Vous et de rester courageux pendant que nous attendons la réalisation de nos songes.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

When the other disciples told Thomas that they had seen Jesus after his resurrection, he refused to believe it and said to them:
« Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it. »(John 20:25 )

Why do we want God to show up or manifest himself first to obey him?
Jesus said: « Blessed are those who believed without seeing! »

Indeed, God wants us to believe above all so that He manifests himself by his goodness.
Faith doesn’t see first, faith believes and then sees.

Abraham believed in God and saw the goodness of God.
Having gone so far as to want to slaughter his son as God had asked him to, Abraham saw « he saw a ram caught by its horns… »(Genesis 22:13)
It was this ram that he offered as a burnt offering in place of his son.
And that’s what he said to his son: « God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son. »(Genesis 22:8)

If we too keep the faith, until the end of the trial, we will see God appear.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to keep the faith until the end of our trials.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Lorsque les autres disciples dirent à Thomas qu’ils avaient vu Jésus après sa résurrection, il refusa d’y croire et leur dit:
« Si je ne vois dans ses mains la marque des clous, et si je ne mets mon doigt dans la marque des clous, et si je ne mets ma main dans son côté, je ne croirai point. »(Jean 20:25)

Pourquoi voulons-nous que Dieu se montre ou se manifeste d’abord pour lui obéir?
Jésus dit: « Heureux ceux qui ont cru sans avoir vu ! »

En effet, Dieu veut que nous croyions avant tout pour qu’il se manifeste par sa bonté.
La foi ne voit pas d’abord, la foi croit et ensuite voit.

Abraham a cru en Dieu et a vu la bonté de Dieu.
Étant allé jusqu’à vouloir égorger son fils comme Dieu le lui avait demandé, Abraham a vu « derrière lui un bélier retenu dans un buisson par les cornes… »(Genèse 22:13)
C’est ce bélier qu’il offrit en holocauste à la place de son fils.
Et c’est ce qu’il avait dit à son fils: « Mon fils, Dieu se pourvoira lui-même de l’agneau pour l’holocauste. »(Genèse 22:8)

Si nous aussi, gardons la foi, jusqu’au bout de l’épreuve, nous verrons Dieu se manifester.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de garder la foi jusqu’au bout de nos épreuves.

Abraham had to trust in God before obeying what He asked of him.
But his son Isaac is a more eloquent testimony to a great degree of trust and obedience.

When they (Abraham and his son Isaac) had arrived at the place which God had told him to offer his son as a sacrifice, « Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. »(Genesis 22:9-10)

If Isaac obeyed his father Abraham and let him bind him and laid him on the altar to kill him, it was because he trusted in his father and in his God.
Isaac could have refused to be bound, and he would have cried out for help and fled from his father, but because he trusted his father, he obeyed.
Is there more obedience than that?
And yet, it is this trust that God wants us to have in Him.
Without this trust we cannot obey Him as He wants and do His will, nor can we please Him.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, give us to trust You so that we can be able to do Your will.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Abraham a dû faire confiance en Dieu, avant d’obéir à ce qu’Il lui avait demandé.
Mais son fils Isaac est un témoignage plus éloquent d’un grand degré de confiance et d’obéissance.

Lorsqu’ils(Abraham et son fils Isaac) furent arrivés au lieu que Dieu lui avait dit pour offrir en sacrifice son fils, « Abraham y éleva un autel, et rangea le bois. Il lia son fils Isaac, et le mit sur l’autel, par-dessus le bois. Puis Abraham étendit la main, et prit le couteau, pour égorger son fils. »(Genèse 22:9-10)

Si Isaac a obéi à son père Abraham et l’a laissé le lier et le mettre sur l’autel pour l’égorger, c’est parce qu’il avait confiance en son père et en son Dieu.
Isaac aurait pu refuser d’être lié, et il aurait crié au secours et fui loin de son père, mais parce qu’il avait confiance en son père, il a obéi.
Y-a-t-il plus d’obéissance que celà?
Et pourtant, c’est cette confiance que Dieu veut que nous ayons envers Lui.
Sans cette confiance nous ne pouvons pas Lui obéir comme Il le veut et faire sa volonté, et nous ne pouvons pas non plus lui plaire.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de Vous faire confiance pour pouvoir faire votre volonté.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

Although sometimes God allows us to suffer, the Bible shows that God hates to see us suffer.

« I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. »(Exodus 3:7)

In reality, our God is sensitive to our sufferings. He sees them, He feels them and He also suffers from them.
We cannot imagine how our God is affected to see us suffer because of our sins and the bondage of Satan.
We cannot imagine how our God is concerned about the consequences of our sins, diseases, accidents, infirmities, and so on.
Because He is sensitive to our pain, our God quickly hears our cries and our prayers.
It is this spiritual complicity that prompts God to comfort us, strengthen us and act in our lives to rescue us from all evil.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, give us to understand that You are concerned about our sufferings and that you want to rescue us from them.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Bien que des fois Dieu autorise que nous souffrions, la Bible montre que Dieu déteste nous voir souffrir.

« J’ai vu la souffrance de mon peuple qui est en Égypte, et j’ai entendu les cris que lui font pousser ses oppresseurs, car je connais ses douleurs. »(Exode 3:7)

En réalité, notre Dieu est sensible à nos souffrances. Il les voit, Il les sent et Il en souffre aussi.
Nous ne pouvons pas nous imaginer comment notre Dieu est affecté de nous voir souffrir à cause de nos péchés et de l’esclavage de Satan.
Nous ne pouvons pas nous imaginer comment notre Dieu est affecté par les conséquences de nos péchés, les maladies, les accidents, les infirmités, etc.
Parce qu’Il est sensible à nos douleurs, notre Dieu entend vite nos cris et nos prières.
C’est cette complicité spirituelle qui pousse Dieu à nous consoler, nous fortifier et agir dans nos vies pour nous délivrer de tout mal.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez nous de comprendre que vous êtes sensible à nos souffrances et que vous voulez nous en délivrer.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.
