When they saw behind them the army of Pharaoh pursuing them, and before them the red sea which they could not cross, the children of Israel were terrified and cried out to the Lord.
Moses then said to them:
« Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. »(Exodus 14:13-14)
If we also find ourselves faced with an unsolvable situation in which we are cornered, we can do nothing but follow the advice of Moses: To stand firm and To be still.
Indeed, fussing, lamenting, complaining, shouting or crying can neither solve a problem nor make an impossible situation possible.
That is why it is better to stand firm, to calm down, and be still.
However, as children of God, we know and firmly believe that “nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).
This is why our faith keeps reminding us to pray, and then we stand firm, calm down, keep silent and wait for what God can do according to his will.
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to trust you in every impossible situation.
It is in the precious name of son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
