Some Christians think that going to church regularly or being born into a Christian family is enough. They forget or trivialize the essential: « To be in good personal relationship with God. »
Indeed, to live in good personal relationship with God, we must hate sin as God Himself hates it and avoid doing it.
As it is the Holy Spirit who ensures this good relationship with God, it is he who confirms our sin each time we sin so that we repent to preserve our good relationship with God. It is also the Holy Spirit who helps us to free ourselves from the chains of sin to which we are accustomed.
Before returning to heaven to his Father, Jesus said: « When he comes, he(the Holy Spirit) will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. »(John 16:8)
Therefore, only those who have the Holy Spirit in them (for having recognized Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior) can be in right relationship with God.
Every Christian should long for a real relationship with God through the Holy Spirit more than anything else.
PRAYER:
Eternal our God, help us to maintain a right relationship with You through the Holy Spirit.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
