REAL FREEDOM

“Christ has set us free”, apostle Paul says in Galatians.

“You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature…”(Galatians 5:13)

Some people feared that this freedom would lead to lawlessness and chaos, but Paul says we should not use it to indulge in sin:
“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions…. For sin will have no dominion over you.”(Romans 6:12-14)

Having freedom in Christ means to not obey sinful passions. We are made free from sin because as long as we are slaves to sin, we can’t really love and serve God or people around us.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, help us to freed from our sinful passions.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
