YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

When the earth was formless and empty and darkness covered the surface of the abyss, the Father spoke. His word created the light which influenced the darkness and the latter retreated far away.
Being born of the « Word/Light », you too are the light of the world and the world is waiting for you to illuminate it with your light.

« You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. »(Matthew 5:14-16)

Your “good deeds,” that is, your kindness and consideration for others, your willingness to make sacrifices, your daily Christian example, will command admiration and even respect from non- converted people. In the end, they will realize that it is God who helps you to live like this. Then they will glorify Him.
If your deeds are full of love, they will enlighten those who are in the darkness of rejection and hatred.
If your deeds are based on faith, they will enlighten those who are stuck in the depths of unbelief.
If your deeds communicate peace and joy, they will enlighten afflicted and troubled souls.
And if your deeds are pure, they will surely break the yoke of impurity placed on the neck of youth.
Let your light shine!

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to be a true light for the world and to be able to shine before the men of this world.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
