THE CHAINS WILL FALL

After arresting Peter, Herod put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.
So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance.
« Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. « Quick, get up! » he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel said to him, « Put on your clothes and sandals. » And Peter did so. « Wrap your cloak around you and follow me, » the angel told him. Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. »(Acts 12:4-9)

Normally nothing could allow Peter to escape, or for anyone to come and humanely free him! What Herod did not foresee was the direct action of God.
The chains fell, the doors opened and Peter found himself outside, wondering if he was not dreaming! But no, it was reality! God still needed his servant and no one can stop the will of God!
If you too, are in any way chained, know that the chains will one day fall off because God wants you to be free.
Know that God would not want to see you chained by bad habits, by illness, by debt, by persecution or a bad reputation, by alcoholism or drug addiction, by a certain weakness, etc.
Much to the surprise of people and yourselves, the chains will fall.
Just trust God.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to never despair in our unpleasantly uncomfortable situations, but to trust in You.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
